Opportunities for Internships and Employment
At the Rec Center, we do not offer “jobs.” We provide opportunities for growth, development and fun. Develop a sense of responsibility, gain valuable work experience to enhance your resume and earn money at the same time! Review and apply for open positions on the Handshake platform.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Recreation and Wellness.
Are you an incoming freshman or a non-AU student interested in working at the Rec Center? Contact Cam Middis, Assistant Director - Facility Operations, for an employment application at cmiddis@go-rutgers.com.
Employment FAQs
No, as an applicant you are not required to be certified in these areas. If you are hired but not fully certified, you must attend a Red Cross certification course on campus. Do note, however, that lifeguards must meet different requirements.
If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student, you may omit any specific information that you do not know yet (e.g., ID number). If you aren’t sure whether you should know certain information, please contact us with specific questions. In addition, you must submit all required application materials (resume, cover letter, three references) in order to be considered for employment.
